ROXBURY - A CULTURAL MOSAIC

College of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston are all located in the neighborhood of Roxbury? Roxbury is home to the largest African-American community in Boston and it is also home to Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Cape Verdeans, Caucasians, and Southeast Asians. Learning more about this culturally rich community is easy if you participate in programs and events sponsored by ACT Roxbury, a cultural economic development program founded eight years ago to celebrate the artistic, historical and cultural vibrancy of this multicultural neighborhood. The annual events of the Roxbury Arts Series showcase ACT Roxbury's theme that Roxbury is Rich! Through four seasonal events, a cultural mosaic is shown. Those events are:
ACT Roxbury sponsors monthly thematic tours under the rubric, Discover Roxbury. From Colonial Roxbury to church architecture to tours about immigration, food and art, a Discover Roxbury tour is sure to please a wide selection of guests and residents. Customized tours are provided as well. Conveniently located near the Ruggles Station, the Dudley Bus Terminal, and The Silver Line, Roxbury is located within walking distance of many colleges and universities.
