By Air
Logan Airport is located about eight miles from Boston University. A taxi to the Admissions Reception Center costs about $30 and takes approximately a half-hour, depending on traffic. Give yourself about an hour if you take the subway from the airport.
Taking the MBTA from the airport:
Take the Airport Shuttle Bus (which stops at all major terminals) to the "T" station. Then take an Inbound train to Government Center. Transfer to the Green Line Westbound (see directions "By Public Transportation" below.)
By Bus
Most major bus lines operate from South Station. A taxi from South Station will take about 30 minutes.
Taking the MBTA (subway) from South Station:
Take the Red Line Inbound (toward Harvard) to Park Street Station. Transfer to the Green Line Westbound (see directions under "By Public Transportation").
By Train
Trains arrive in South Station and Back Bay. Follow South Station directions above (under "By Bus"). The Back Bay station is closer to campus, but involves a walk of several blocks to the Green "T" (MBTA subway) line or a taxi ride of approximately $13.
By Public Transportation
Green Line
- From Lechmere, Science Park, North Station, or Haymarket, take any train to Government Center. Transfer to the westbound "B" train.
- From the "C" (Cleveland Circle) or "D" (Riverside) train, take any train inbound to Kenmore Square. Transfer to the outbound platform and board the "B" train.
- From the "E" (Heath Street) train, take any train inbound to Copley station. Transfer to the outbound platform and board the "B" train.
Red Line
- Take the Red Line train to Park Street.
- Transfer to the westbound Green Line "B" train.
Blue Line
- Take the Blue Line train to Government Center.
- Transfer to the westbound Green Line "B" train.
Orange Line
- Take the Orange Line train to Downtown Crossing.
- Follow the underground concourse to the Park Street station on the Green Line. Board the westbound "B" train.
MBTA Bus
- Take any of the following bus routes to Kenmore Square: 8, 57, 60, 65, 8A. Board the westbound "B" train.
By Car
From the West
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Exit 18 (Cambridge/Brighton). After the toll booth, follow the signs for Cambridge through the first light. Turn right at the next light, keeping the Doubletree Guest Suite Hotel on the right. Take Soldiers Field Road/Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Square exit. Turn right at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Stay to the right to remain on Bay State Road. The Reception Center will be on the right, at 121 Bay State Road. See "Parking" below.
From the North
Travel South on Route 95 to Route 93. Take Exit 26-B (Storrow Drive/North Station) moving quickly to the left on the exit ramp, and into the tunnel to Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Square Exit (left exit). Use the right-hand side of the exit ramp for Kenmore Square (see directions above from Kenmore square exit). See "Parking" below.
From the South
Take Route 93/Route 3 North to Exit 26 (Storrow Drive/Back Bay). Go West on Storrow Drive; follow directions above to the Kenmore Square exit and the University. See "Parking" below.
Parking
Metered parking is available in front of the Reception Center at 121 Bay State Road. (Meters accept quarters only.) Parking is located off Commonwealth Avenue just West of Kenmore Square.
